camp!

FFA
FFA Camp took 5 hours on a bus to reach. not a fun ride.
i spent five days doing awesome workshops and fun games.
i drove a motor boat!
it was amazing
4-H
And after only having one day to ride my horse, i shot off for yet another week of camp. Noah and i both went to 4-H camp for the first time, and it was pretty much amazing. i can't wait for next year!!!

wow. just. wow.

On Saturday, my mom confirmed that I would be going to Kings Island on Monday.

So, I stayed the night with Gabby on Sunday night, and Monday morning everyone piled into Joy's neighbor's car (because Joy's broke down) and we set off to the giant playground.

the first thing Bryce said to me when he saw me was, "what the heck! why are you coming to my birthday?!"

I said, "It's your birthday? oh. happy birthday!"

When we got to the gates and payed for preferred parking, i had to get my pass processed. It's a renewal pass, so of course it turns out that my mom threw out all the old passes but my dad's. i was prepared to fake cry that i grabbed the wrong pass. but i don't think the guy who did my pass was paying attention. he just checked it off, threw away the old pass, handed me my new pass, and asked me to sign.

Finally, after over a month of riding lessons and babysitting, i had my goldpass. i felt like screaming.

So of course, Diamondback was first. we waited a staggering 15 minutes to get on. i tried to ask the seater person for the front, but he shook his head. i got stuck in the middle. oh well, this time, at least.

after seeing my ingenious pose of acting like the snake was coming after me, i was sooooo close to buying it. the only thing that stopped me was the ten dollar price. i onlt brought 20 bucks of my own money and i didn't want to waste it. so i took a picture with my phone instead.

i know, it's blurry. but i'm on the left :)

beast in the front seat was next,

then vortex toward the front,

then Backlot (in line and off the ride in 9 minutes)

Then the swings just because we had the time

then lunch :)

After lunch we rode the viking ship twice and then we set off for son of beast. the guy in front of us was too fat for the ride so they kicked him off!

after SOB was flight deck, which was also in the front seat,

then delirium.

we passed advebture express and rode that in the front seat, and then we rode flight of fear in the front seat (holding our bags during the ride because we couldn't figure out the lockers!)

after fof was white water canyon, with 5 people (including a cussing todler) and 4 of those people smoking in line. it made me sick. after we got off the ride we wasted a few quarters on the tubes you get to soak people with.

after one more ride on diamondback because the wait was 10 minutes, we left at 4:30.

here is our last photo:

hugs!

so, after KI, we went to bdubs for bryce's birthday. yum :)

School is SO overrated :(

Really, it is. the end of the year is coming, and i have a BAD case of summer-itis :(

Our exams are on the last three days of school. May 26, 27, and 28. Will anyone have enough brainpower to focus on exams when endless summer thoughts will be flying through their minds? No!

My English portfolio is worth 50% of our exam grade, and overall i've spent four hours working on it. I had everything saved on our computer. Guess what? My mom tried to do something with it last night and it crashed. So after two hours of trying to fix the computer, she finally figured out how to get it on "safety mode," and put my stuff on a flash. For that, I am forever grateful.

When you get perfect attendence for a semester, you can waive an exam. i've been trying very hard to not miss one minute of school so i don't have to take my geometry exam. it paid off. since i'm skipping it, i can keep my grade at a B and not worry about it!

Mr. Good's history exam is like 250 questions long, but we get to use all our terms and study guides.

So, I hope the end of the year turns out ok. after May 28 it will be nothing but 4-H and KI!

Sigh. The summer-itis pandemic has begun.

Kings Island Opening Day!!

I was overjoyed to find out that I won the DB bid!
There was a catch. We had to be at KI between 6 and 7 AM to check in!
Groan. Sigh. Painful shutting of the eyes. sudden urge to sleep.
so we did show up at 6:11 AM, dragging the disgruntled and shivering Leslie, the over-excited Christina, the tired Gabby, and the also over-excited Gabby's mom, Amy, who was going to be late for a wedding just to get her ride on Diamondback. How dedicated!
After waiting in line for what seemed like eternity, i finally got my lanyard and my pass to be a first rider. they opened the gates and let everyone (first riders and freinds) in and we made our way to DB.
Guess What? More line waiting. I felt the worst for Leslie, who was in shorts, when it wasn't exactly warm outside. we had to wait in a line to get my T-shirt and my rider #158my sticker. We sat in the new Diamondback cafe for testing to be over. the cafe had a nice view of the splashdown, which looked terribly cold at the moment. When they finally called numbers 150-200, i was impossibly nervous. ever since my first trip to KI, the first ride was always AE (adventure express). Such a large coaster at 8 AM had me shaking from cold and nervousness. I put my hood up, despite my mom's comment of, "You really think that'll do anything?" i stood in line by a guy i didn't know, and a girl i didn't know behind me. when we finally got to the station (that i had never seen before), i knew i wouldn't be lucky enough for a front seat, and i was kind of glad, considering the fact that the coaster suddenly looked scarier in real life.
by the time i was at the top of the hill, my fears had vanished. i carelessly threw my hands up, not wanting to chicken out on my first ride. the first drop is... it's really tall, and steep, and fast, all at the same time. and it's not a slow, chug-you-up-slowly kind of hill. It's, "oh, you're up, you're at the top, here you go, you're over! Have a nice ride. Next!" After I processed the fact that i was on the first hill, i was already halfway up the second. It went by so fast; there was no way the ride was three minutes long. As it made its way toward the rear of the track, i desperately looked around for the camera. i needed to look at it straight in the eye with my excited face. instead, my picture ame out with me looking confused, looking for something. and so did my second picture.
when i got off the ride, there were lots of KI employees shaking my hand, asking me how my ride was, etc. the line took me straight to the picture booth and gift shop. the kid behind me was going crazy for it being so early in the morning. as a coaster junky to a coaster junky, i coversed with him about things like hills and airtime, etc. during this, in the crazy long line to get my picture, i heard two employees talking.
"Yeah, man, it's gonna be crazy."
"We'', we're opening the gates in 10 minutes to goldpass holders, so..."
I knew i wasn't going to see my picture in that time, so i jumped out of line back to diamondback.
"Hey, Where you going? Don't you want to see your picture?" he called.
"I'm...gonaa go ride it again. i can get my picture later."
The next ride, i rode with my mom, as promised, leaving Leslie all alone (which i felt HORRIBLE for that!). and dure enough, as soon as we got off the ride, the stampede came.
the resulting line stretched through every turnstyle, out through Nick-U, down international street, around the eiffel tower, and back to the beast. how long was that wait? 6 HOURS. i kid you not. we all laughed to ourselves and set off for the beast, the only ride open. (that didn't have a line ridiculously long)
after the beast, we rode Adventure express? i think that's what we did next. Christina took out her digital camera and got some great pics of us riding it. she has yet to post them on facebook. we rode Vortex, Firehawk, Delirium, Tomb Raider (Crypt), The KI Miami Valley Railroad, Invertigo, Diamondback (again, with an hour wait, because the line was then only to the sign:) And surprisingly, that's all we rode. our feet felt like they were going to fall off any second! we left at 7:30. the crowds were huge for opening day, and i figured i had all summer anyway :)
we heard some KI tourists, of course. "Man, that new one, it goes 98 mile an hour." (Cough, cough. 80.) and the beast, dude? Man it goes 79 mile an hour! (I think more like 55-60) that new one's drop is 300 feet tall, man! (Haha, try 230 hill, 215 foot drop.)
All in all, it was awesome!!! i've heard that when you ride DB in the back, you actually get wet in the splashdown! i shall try this when i get my goldpass!

Aside from that, my mile time today was 8:15! not that bad, for someone out of shape!
well, i gotta get back to my homework. math test tomorrow, english exam to finish :/
Adios. Hasta Luego.

Two words: Gatlinburg, Tennessee!!!

in case you were wondering where i disspeared to the last 6 days, it was, well, you read it!

i had a great time hiking the smokies and doing fun stuff like dixie stampede!

of course it snowed for two days, but our cabin had a hot tub to soak in!

We ate at hard rock one day, which was awesome,

got ripped off by some riding stable that had a "no petting the horses" rule,
soaked in a hot tub in the snow,
raced each other on go karts (which i got 2nd place!)
had a picnic in a little grassy haven in cades cove,
rode a really scary skylift ride that had an amazing view at the top (where i got that pan pic)
crossed the mountains to little cherokee north carolina to shop for junk and go to a crappy dairy queen,
get dragged by two young boys to goofy china stops, (their favorite being the china bazaar)
went skating for an hour and a half straight and leaving when a creepy guy with two bodyguards showed up...
getting a carriage ride in cades cove and spotting wild turkeys on the trail,
taking endless pictures of the breathtaking views,
listening to a little brother complain when his ears were popping,
spending eternity deciding what to do,
enjoying the pleasures of cable for one of the few times in my life,
buying my belt from the leather shack,
eating a whole normal dinner with no utensils at dixie stampede (whole rotisserie chicken, soup, corn on the cob, pork loin, apple pastry, potato, and and a biscuit :D)...
and getting crappy service at a pancake house and watching those two boys ride an elephant ride!
and that, folks, was my my trip to gatlinburg!

in short, it was utterly amazing :)
well i have some stuff to do now, gotta check up on ki and diamondback, and got some people to text, so see ya!

--Diamondback News--
Well the splashdown was drained for site work... i haven't seen DB testing in a few days. the webcam is actually showing up!

I'm so psyched! for one, Gatlinburg is coming up in a matter of weeks.one and a half weeks, to be exact. when i get back from TN i'm getting my braces off, then i have my opening day at KI trip that weekend! sigh. i'm SOOOO excited. and i'm sharing the love so if you want to buy a KI ticket and come with me opening day CALL ME!! because so far only two of my friends can go and i want this to be a main event!! i want everyone to be able to enjoy opening day with me, because everone should be able to wait in line for 4 hours on OPENING DAY!!! ah. then i have my actual birthday the next day, but eh, compared to the day before that, my birthday will be like.... um.... oh well.

ummmm... facebook is down! whiiiiyyyyyyy?

anyway, call me if you can go

Emilee-ee :)

Diamondback continues to test... :)
But stupid allan H. from Texas bid $3,100 on the ride! Allan! Do us a favor and go back to texas where you belong! ride your own coasters! you got your own B&M coaster, so go ride goliath!
sigh. is it april 18 yet?

Aside from that,I'm pretty sure i'm getting a C on the next math test. I'm sorry, Mr. florkey, if i'm not as passionate about trapezoids as you are. :P

I'm going crazy. My head is a giant tube of stuffing. my eyes are watering, my nosed is stuffed, typical sinus stuff. it's this weather. i wish summer would get here :)

Waking up

Ugh. I don't know what it is at 5:50 in the morning, when the sound of my ipod comes on and it's when i feel the most comfortable, but i don't want to wake up. Maybe a miracle will happen.
Maybe I'll wake up and there was a freak blizzard in march and there's no school.
Maybe I'll wake up and it turns out that it's 2:50 instead of 5:50 and I can sleep longer.
Maybe I'll wake up and I have a sore throat with a cough and a fever of 102 and there's no chance of me being at school.
Maybe I'll wake up and I won't feel tired at all.
Maybe I'll wake up have a reason to want to go to school.
Maybe I'll wake up when there's a water leak at school and school's cancelled.
OR, maybe I'll wake up because a heat wave caused school to close so i can be outside all day.
Or maybe I just need to get over it and wake up.
